Location details
“Built with square blocks of green-grey stone, it incorporates reused Roman materials. The three-lobed portal and the mullioned window above it evoke Byzantine-style Carolingian forms”.
The interior of the chapel, however, has undergone subsequent renovation: in the left-hand apse, traces of Byzantine-style paintings remain, whilst in the central apse there are some remains of frescoes—unfortunately repainted—once the work of the brothers Matteo and Tommaso Biazaci.
In the 18th century, the chapel was raised.
